No, it isn’t. Investors are required by law to tax these returns themselves as part of their tax return. The documents required for tax purposes can be found after logging in to your investor account in the transactions overview where you can easily download a statement for the desired period. We recommend preparing your tax return in cooperation with a tax advisor registered with the Chamber of Tax Advisors of the Czech Republic. Detailed information and procedures for submitting a tax return can also be found on the Financial Administration portal.

Is it even legal to invest in loans that have already been provided by another company?

What happens if BONDSTER becomes insolvent?

We are confident that such a situation will not happen. Nevertheless, it is important to know what would happen in this highly unlikely scenario. In the event of insolvency, BONDSTER would immediately inform all investors. Based on the applicable legislation, a liquidator would be appointed to ensure the platform’s basic operations so that it can continue to fulfil the obligations arising from investments made. Agreements on the assignment of claims would not be affected by this. The liquidator would also take control of all funds in the investment accounts and ensure that all claims against investors and business partners are properly settled. Clients’ money is kept in a separate company account and is thus separated from the operating accounts which are used for the day-to-day running of the company.

On the BONDSTER market, you can invest primarily in secured loans. Loans secured by real estate are among the safest. If a loan is not properly repaid, it is either refinanced or the mortgaged property is sold, and the investors’ claims are satisfied from the proceeds of this operation. In addition to real estate, loans secured by other tangible assets (e.g. cars, machinery, etc.), promissory notes or cryptocurrency are also available on the platform. For selected unsecured loans, providers offer a buyback guarantee as protection in case a borrower defaults on the loan. The above-mentioned elements thus significantly increase the security of the investment. However, it should be noted that no investment is completely risk-free which is why we strongly recommend investors diversify their portfolios accordingly. To reduce the overall risk, it is recommended to include a higher number of loans from different providers in the portfolio (note: at least 100 loans from 7 providers) and to combine different types of loans (i.e. secured by real estate, cryptocurrency, with a buyback guarantee, etc.).
